As Naoko entered her installation of wind-swept furniture, I was immediately reminded of Loïe Fuller – a lone female artist carrying the original artistic idea of a twirling costume lit up by coloured lighting designs. Like in a dream, Naoko activated the stage, bringing her carefully deconstructed office space to life. The shadows of her strange objects, made of wood, paper and film, danced first in a series of solos and then as an ensemble, creating a patchwork landscape of light and dark.
